Free Press Release Sites

by Steve on July 27, 2009

Using press releases to announce news updates about your business to media outlets can be an effective way to get attention for your business. There are many press release sites that you have to pay for, but there are others that you can submit to for free (with restrictions). Selectively using press releases should be part of your overall marketing plan. The following are free press release sites, all of which require you register on the site to submit:

24-7 Press Release.com: submission approval within 24 hours, you can upgrade your service for more exposure for $49, there are 400 industry channels and you can preschedule your press release for a future date.

inewswire.com: 1 release per week per company, prescheduling up to 72 hours in advance, upgrade for $25 per release

The Open Press: Press releases do not require approval, free releases are text only and remain on the site for six months, variety of submission categories

PRUrgent: Variety of categories, requires pre-approval, paid releases go to the top so free submissions go lower, paid submissions are $9.95 each.

Free Press Release.com: press releases show up instantly under a variety of categories, indexing by Google within 24 hours.

Press releases are an easy and free way to let the media know about changes and events at your business. Many of the sites offer free templates for formatting a release or you can do an online search for additional options.
